Henry Wolff’s practice investigates land husbandry: the care, cultivation and breeding of crops and animals – management and conservation of recourses.
Through exploratory methods, it engages with specific environments that example agricultural, war and waste interventions. To uncover their relational ecologies, their depiction is intersected with visual devices. The aim of this is to create a visual anthology that reconciles with the husbandries of specific sites and to add to a dialogue of human ecology.
Henry graduated with an MA (Hons) Fine Art from Edinburgh College of Art. He was awarded the James Cumming Award for Draughtsmanship RSA 2024 and was shortlisted for the Astaire Award 2024. We were delighted to feature Henry’s work in our 2024 Breakouts show – our renowned annual showcase of the best talent coming out of the Scottish Art Schools.
