This January we’re focused on all things new as we introduce you to work from 3 brand new gallery artists, alongside expanding the portfolios of our current rising talents.
Marina Pcheliakova
Marina Pcheliakova’s work embraces half-remembered experiences – where memories have faded and stories have been forgotten, Marina uses paint to build a new, alternate version of events. Find all her work here.
“Memories play a significant role in my artistic practice. By drawing inspiration from my childhood, personal experiences, and impactful events, I explore the limitations of selective memory. My interest lies in examining even the most insignificant memories that lack strong emotional experiences, and by recreating them in detail, I can develop them into full-fledged images”.
Lisa Denyer
Abstract artist Lisa Denyer seeks to examine the materiality and physical properties of paint. Her practice combines multiple materials selected for their textural qualities and how they assist and disrupt application. Find all her work here.
“My practice explores the polarities of a slow, considered painting process against the speed and sensory perceptions of daily life. The work relates to the body, the spaces we inhabit, and the visuals we encounter on a day-to-day basis”.
Suzanne Lustig
Suzanne Lustig is inspired by nature – she loves to work with oil pastels and Indian inks, as they enable her to inject a spontaneity into her art, while layering up depth, texture and rich details. Find all her work here.
“I love working with materials that are less malleable like Indian ink and oil pastels. They resist easy manipulation, forcing me to negotiate, adapt, and discover unexpected paths. The tactile effect of the medium allows me to build depth and texture, creating rich details”.
