We’re delighted to welcome Angus Vasili into the gallery. He is an artist whose work sits somewhere between bold architecture and expressive abstraction. With a background in graphic design and illustration, his practice has grown into a hands-on, process-led exploration of printmaking.
Working primarily with silkscreens, Angus blends techniques like photography and hand-finished textures to build layered, dynamic pieces. His approach is loose, intuitive, and open to chance. He embraces the unexpected happy accidents that come from analogue processes. It’s this unpredictability that gives his work its raw, energetic edge.
A big source of inspiration comes from urban decay – think peeling posters, worn billboards and overlooked city surfaces. Rather than present them as they are, Angus transforms fragments into abstract compositions that echo natural forms.
His work is about finding beauty in unlikely places. Breaking things down and rebuilding. Angus explores the tension between destruction and creation – inviting viewers to look again at neglected spaces and see them in a completely new way.
