Glasgow based Sandy Grant’s current body of work conveys daily human life and how it comes into contact with other aspects of our natural family; plants, animals and environments that he finds unusual, unsettling and sometimes frightening.

“These experiences can feel out of context with our busy human activities, reminding us of facts we all know but don’t often acknowledge; unstoppable impermanence, the insurmountable force of nature, our co-habitation on earth with so many other vigorous creatures and how all this exists even on our doorsteps, in our streets and cities.”

Sandy graduated from Grays School of Art in 1997. He has held numerous exhibitions across the UK and internationally in Berlin and Canada. His painting ‘Bears’ received the Anne Redpath Award from the RSA, Edinburgh.
