Wild spaces, memory and atmosphere are key areas of concern in my work. I often create composite landscapes, built from memories that I feel are connected through a shared aesthetic. The simultaneous push and pull between paint appearing as paint and what it is representing, allows me to be selective with the information and details I include in each piece of work. The way in which elements within a landscape are altered by light is my primary focus, every decision I make is centred around recreating this. I have a fascination with depth, which has lead to an on-going attempt to achieve a sense of immersion through paint.
