Building from a lyric in the Beatles song ‘Lucy in the sky with Diamonds’, these pieces are a result of studying and creating compositions from the figure grouping and poses of a number of Old Masters drawings. Macrae has played off a base colour and attempted to capture a moment which is then lost again and again, a figure rising from bed, or reclined across another.
