In this work, Frew investigates the idea of original v’s the surrogate, whilst at the same time analysing how we perceive an object: could this work be defined as a painting or a sculpture? (Or both?) The title text This Image Has Already Been Released makes reference to the original painting which has been imitated, whilst also questioning the ubiquity and duplication of images in a Post-Internet discourse. Like a form of three-dimensional printmaking, this work will run in an edition of 10 pieces.
